The X-Treme Fighting Organization (XFO MMA) is proud to announce XFO-50, the company’s historic 50th professional event, taking place Friday, March 21 at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago.
The event, which features professional mixed martial arts fights, will be headlined by Polish MMA superstar Adam “Maja” Maciejewski. After taking a four year hiatus to repair an injured knee, Maciejewski is on a four fight winning streak with two victories by TKO (technical knockout) and one by submission. He looks to pick up his fifth straight victory in front of his home town and move on to the Ultimate Fighting Championships in the near future.
Chicago’s own Fallon Fox will be featured as the co-main event and could be the most talked about fighter in MMA history. As the first openly transgender athlete in MMA history, Fox has been the center of a media storm regarding postoperative transsexual athletes and their place in combat sports. Focusing on fighting and not multiple articles in Sports Illustrated, Time and The New York Times, Fox built her career winning her first three women’s MMA bouts in devastating fashion. After suffering her first loss in October 2013, Fox comes back to her home town looking to start a new winning streak.
“This is the biggest fight we’ve ever had at the XFO,” said Dan Lardy, president of XFO. “It’s our 50th professional event, our 10 year anniversary and our first time at the UIC Pavilion – which hasn’t seen a professional MMA event in nearly a decade. We’re going to put on a show people won’t soon forget.”
