What tickets are sold at the Box Office?
The Box Office sells all Pavilion Ticket Master event tickets, and UIC athletics tickets along with tickets to any other event that the Pavilion might hold.
Where can I park?
Parking is located on Harrison in the Pavilion parking structure, there are also other lots directly across the street for larger events that have an over flow of parking. Parking costs vary depending on event anywhere from $5-20. For more information, visit Directions & Parking.
Can I take Public Transportation to the Pavilion?
Yes, the CTA runs many routes around the Pavilion. The Blue Line is about a half a block from our front door. The main buses are the 60, 7, 120 and the 8 that will get you in the general area of the UIC Pavilion. The CTA Blue line stop is Racine. For more information, visit Directions & Parking.
What time do doors open?
Doors open an hour before the start time of the event, unless otherwise stated.
Where can I smoke at the Pavilion?
The Pavilion is a smoke-free environment, but we do offer a smoking gate outside Gate 5 during the event. This is a smoking area that is monitored by Pavilion staff for reentry.
Do we sell Alcohol?
Yes, During concerts and sporting events we serve wine, beer and premixed drinks at the concession stands. We do not serve alcohol at NCAA sponsored events, University and community events.
What is your metal detector policy?
The use of metal detectors is required for any event held at the UIC Pavilion or UIC Dorin Forum which meet the any one of following criteria:
- The event is organized by an entity not affiliated with UIC;
- The organizers anticipate 400 or more persons will attend, or the UIC Venues & Events, in their sole discretion, believe there is a substantial likelihood that 400 or more persons will attend;
- Open to non-UIC students, faculty or staff;
- Alcohol will be served, there is a live band or other form of musical entertainment, or event has special circumstances, as determined by UIC Venues & Events.
All events where metal detectors will be utilized must notify attendees in advance. Persons entering metal detectors will only be required to remove their phones, keys, coins, wallets, etc. from their pockets. If a person sets off alarm, they must return to the metal detector entrance, remove all items from pockets and enter again. If they again set off alarm, they will be scanned by a hand held wand. After wanding if detectors still activate, patron will not be permitted to enter the venue.
What are your bag policies?
Policy for the Bags, Purses and Backpacks: For safety reasons, bags, purses, backpacks and other large bags may not be permitted in the UIC Pavilion or UIC Dorin Forum.
This policy will be in effect for all events except:
- UIC Dorin Forum events that are only open to UIC Employees
- Events where materials necessary for the event are contained in the bags (ie. Job fairs, exhibitions, etc.)
Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Purses, bags or containers larger than 12” x 6” x 12”
- Camera bags
- Cinch bags/drawstring bags
- Computer bags
- Coolers (including thermos)
- Fanny packs
- Luggage of any kind
- Diaper bags
Patrons may bring in the following bags:
- Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC that do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”. Bags may be hand carried or have a shoulder strap.
- One gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc).
An exception will be made for medical necessary items after proper inspection at the entrance.
All bags that are allowed in the facility will be searched.
What is not allowed in the building?
We do not allow outside food, professional cameras with a detachable lens, or paraphernalia of any kind. Bags, book bags, and large purses are also not allowed. For more information about our prohibited items, please read Prohibited Items Policies on our Policies page
Where should I be dropped off if I’m in a wheelchair?
You can pull up on the corner of Harrison and Racine and get dropped off at the main entrance gate 3. For more information about special guest services, visit ADA Accessibility.
Do you have wheelchairs available to the public?
Yes. The Pavilion does have wheelchairs on site for guests to use. A Guest Services worker will escort the person in need of assistance around the building. You can contact an employee for help once in the building. For more information about special guest services, visit ADA Accessibility.
Are there any good restaurants around the area? What else is near UIC?
UIC is close to many fine dining restaurants. Within walking distance are Greek Town, Little Italy, and many exciting restaurants on the South Campus formally known as Maxwell Street. For more information, go to Visit Our Neighborhoods.
