USA HANDBALL PRESENTS: GERMANY vs. POLAND
GERMANY vs. POLAND- JULY 17th TEAM HANDBALL
The German and Polish men's national teams are feared and respected worldwide, with 30 combined World Championship appearances. In 2007, the two clashed for the gold medal at the world cup; the Germans defeated the Poles, 29-24. In a fierce matchup people would travel to the Olympics twice a decade to witness, Poland will have its chance for revenge this summer on American soil. The European Handball Federation recently ranked Poland No. 4, one spot above No. 5 Germany.
The match, sponsored by USA Team Handball, Exlibris and World Sport Chicago, will be broadcast live in Germany and Poland thanks to a partnership with SportFive.

Slayer/Megadeth —POSTPONED UNTIL AUGUST 20
NEW DATE AUGUST 20... Tickets for Feb. 5th date will be honored on Aug. 20th
Slayer and Megadeth are thrilled to announce the new, confirmed routing for the American Carnage North American Tour, which will commence with the rescheduled Canadian Carnage East dates in Quebec City on Friday, July 23. Slayer will then head to Europe for a run of festival dates, returning to kick off the American Carnage leg in August and landing in Chicago of Friday, August 20 at the UIC Pavilion. Tickets for this show are now on sale at the UIC Pavilion box office, all Ticketmaster outlets, online at Ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000. Fans who already purchased tickets for the February show can use those tickets at the new date in August. If fans are unable to attend the August 20 show, refunds are available at the original point of purchase.
The American Carnage Tour, originally scheduled to take place in January and February, had to be put on hold due to Slayer's vocalist/bassist, Tom Araya's ongoing, minimally-invasive treatments for what was diagnosed as a Cervical Radiculopathy, an occupational hazard for the rocker who is known for aggressively swinging his long mane of hair while performing. Right after the first of the year, Araya made the difficult decision to undergo a surgical procedure, called an Anterior Cervical Discectomy with Fusion, a relatively routine practice with an excellent recovery rate. That surgery took place early last week.
Buy tickets to Slayer/Megadeth at our Box Office or at Ticketmaster.

- The Next Generation of Super Middleweights Boxing- April 30th- Doors 7pm
Dominic Pesoli has ambitious plans for boxing fans in the city, and while he might not meet every goal, there’s no question the dynamic promoter will achieve his main objective: Bring competitive boxing cards back to the city on a regular basis.
“Hopefully, I can bring some big shows,” Pesoli said. “My goal here is to do 3,000 to 5,000 people. It might take a little while to build that up again. But there are restaurants nearby, and people can eat a meal and go to the fights.”
The only way a promoter can make this work is if he’s hooked up, and Pesoli is. He’s co-promoted shows with Oscar De La Hoya’s “Golden Boy Promotions” and “Top Rank.”
“What’s important is we put on fights that entertain fans. As long as they’re competitive, that’s what people want to see.”

“…one of the most exciting things to happen to Chicago since… since… I don’t know. But really. It’s amazing.”
“It was my first roller derby game (in person) and I loved it. The outfits were cute, it was very good entertainment, and the Rollers were great! The people all were very nice and friendly. The fans are great. No matter who you are you will enjoy the roller derby, especially when the Rollers are crushing teams by up to 200 points!”
“If you haven’t experienced women’s roller derby yet, you’re definitely missing out. It’s…something everyone has to indulge in at least once, even if you don’t think it’s your ‘thing’. This team is the best in the league, and a ton of fun to watch.”
